Die Bands:
SABATON SABATON wurde 1999 in Falun, Schweden von den Bandmitgliedern unter dem Namen AEON gegründet. Die Gründungsmitglieder von AEON, Rikard Sunden, Pär Sundström und Daniel Mullback, lernten dann Oskar Montelius und Joakim Brodén kennen und sie entschieden sich zu einem Neustart mit neuem Namen – SABATON. Nach “Fist For Fight” (2001), “Primo Victoria” (2005), “Attero Dominatus” (2006), “Metalizer” (2007) und “The Art Of War” (2008) veröffentlichten SABATON im Mai 2010 ihr neuestes Album “Coat Of Arms” und das immer noch in der gleichen Besetzung. Ende 2009 waren SABATON bereit ihr neues Album aufzunehmen. Die Band machte 2009 noch einen großen Schritt, sie wurden Teil der Nuclear Blast Familie. Im Februar 2010 mixte Fredrik Nordström, assistiert von Andrew Hayball im Boomtown Studio das neue SABATON Album. Seit Mai nun ist das neue Album veröffentlich und SABATON absolvierten Auftritte bei vielen der großen Open Airs in diesem Sommer. ARCH ENEMY ARCH ENEMY entstand 1996 nach dem Ende der Band CARCASS, als sich Michael Amott (ex-Carcass und Carnage) und Sänger Johan Liiva (ex-Carnage) mit Christopher Amott (Gitarre) und Daniel Erlandsson (Schlagzeug) zusammentaten, um nochmals zusammen Musik zu machen. Das Debtalbum heißt Black Earth und erschien 1996 bei Wrong Again Records. Es war in Japan und Schweden einigermaßen erfolgreich. Danach wechselte die Band zu Century Media. Im Jahr 1998 folgte Stigmata, ab dem Bassist Martin Bengtsson engagiert wurde. Dieses Album war sowohl in Europa als auch in den Vereinigten Staaten erfolgreich. Johan Liiva verließ die Band 2001, den Gesangspart übernahm die aus Kln stammende Angela Gossow. Angela hatte Michael Amott während eines Interviews, das früher im selben Jahr stattgefunden hatte, ein Demotape übergeben. Sie wurde vom Großteil der Fans positiv aufgenommen, obwohl es für eine Death-Metal-Band ungewöhnlich ist, eine Sängerin zu haben. Am 25. September 2009 veröffentlichten Arch Enemy ihr Album „The Root of All Evil“. Die Band hat ausschließlich Songs der ersten drei Alben, auf denen noch der frühere Sänger Johan Liiva zu hören war, mit Angela Gossow neu eingespielt. Im Dezember werden sie wieder im Studio sein um ihr neues Album, welches im Mai 2011 veröffentlich werden soll, aufzunehmen.
AMORPHIS Gegründet 1990 in Helsinki, AMORPHIS haben in den vergangenen 20 Jahren hart gearbeitet um an die Spitze der europäischen Metal-Szene zu gelangen. Ihren Death Metal-Sound hat die Band um Mastermind Esa Holopainen so verfeinert, dass sie zu einem ernsthaften Rock-Act gewachsen sind. 1996 nahmen AMORPHIS ihr historisches Album „Elegy“ auf. Dieses Album ist ein progressives Folkmetal Meisterwerk und sie erreichten damit den ersten Top 100 Chart-Einstieg für ihr Label Nuclear Blast. Nun aber in die Gegenwart: 2010 konnten AMORPHIS und die Fans das 20-jährige Jubiläum feiern. Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer ersten DVD “Forging the Land of Thousand Lakes”, gab es mit Magic & Mayhem – Tales from the Early Years” ein Best of-Album, auf dem alte Klassiker, favorisierte Songs der Fans und Coverversionen vertreten waren. Das erste Mal hatten die Fans die Gelegenheit zu hören, wie das „alte“ Deathmetal-Material wie “Vulgar Necrolatry”, ihr größter Hit in den 90iger Jahre “Black Winter Day“ oder das beliebte “My Kantele” mit dem „neuen“ Sänger Tomi Joutsen heute klingt. Freut euch auf eine tolle Show von AMORPHIS auf dem Summers End Open Air.
ORDEN OGAN Wie sagt Homer Simpson in einer Folge so schön? "Wir brauchen einen Bandnamen, der beim ersten Mal hören unglaublich komisch ist und danach jedes Mal weniger." Das müssen sich auch Sänger und Gitarrist Sebastian Levermann, Basser Sebastian Severin und Drummer Sebastian Grütling 1996 gedacht haben, als sie ihre Band in Arnsberg TANZENDE AINGEWAIDE benennen. Zum Glück haben sie bald ein Einsehen und ändern den Namen in ORDEN OGAN um. Wobei auch hier eine gewisse Albernheit nicht außen vor bleibt, da es sich bei besagtem Orden um eine mittelalterlichen Verein handelte, der teils recht obskuren Riten nachging. Die Presse ist sich fast einstimmig einig, dass ORDEN OGAN in Sachen Power Metal in etwa die Erben von BLIND GUARDIAN oder der alten HELLOWEEN darstellen. Seit Januar 2010 liegt ihr drittes Album "Easton Hope" vor. Auf diesem Album treten ORDEN OGAN an, um den Power Metal nach wie vor am Leben zu erhalten.
ADAM BOMB 1979, als ADAM BOMB 16 Jahre alt war, starteten er und Geoff Tate (Queensryche) eine Coverband mit dem Namen TYRANT. Später trat er in die Band TKO und nahm mit dieser das Album “In Your Face” auf. Zwei Jahre später nahm er an Auditions für einen Job bei KISS teil, aber leider klappte es nicht damit. Danach ging er nach Hollywood und teilte sich das Appartement mit Jeffrey Isbelle, besser bekannt als Izzy Stradlin. Zudem zählte zu seinem Freundeskreis Tommy Thayer, der jetzt bei KISS die Gitarre bedient. Er war es auch der ADAM BOMB vorschlug eine eigene Band zu gründen. 1983 nahm er auch das erste Album „Fatal Attraction“ auf. Ein Jahr später zog er nach New York um mit Drummer Gregg Gerson (Billy Idol), Bassist Phil Feit (Riot) und Aerosmith Gitarrist Jimmy Crespo eine Band auf die Beine zu stellen. Später hatten sie sogar die Möglichkeit Shows für Bands wie Armored Saint und Metallica zu eröffnen. In den darauffolgenden Jahren trat ADAM BOMB als Band, aber auch als Solist auf. Er trat zusammen auf mit Künstlern wie Chuck Berry, Johnny Thunders und Billy Idol´s Gitarrist Steve Stevens und nahm einige Alben auf. Heute tourt ADAM BOMB als 3-Mann Band durch Europa und konnte auch in diesem Jahr nach einem Konzert von Metallica ein Konzert in Prag spielen. Tommy Thayer war sogar als Special Guest zugegen. Nach einer solch spektakulären Biografie kann man nur gespannt sein auf die Performance von ADAM BOMB auf dem Summers End Open Air sein!
CAPITAL JOKE CAPITAL JOKE ist die neue Band von Manni Schmidt (Ex-Rage, Ex-Grave Digger), die er nach seinem Ausstieg bei Grave Digger 2009 gegründet hat. In der Besetzung: Manni - GItarre, Barto Kormann - Gesang, Dom Nowitzki - Drums und Jan LeGrow - Bass haben Capital Joke schon die ersten Gigs gespielt und gerade ihr erstes Demo aufgenommen. Die Jungs haben sich dem "groovigen Bluesrock-Metal" verschrieben und werden es im Jahr 2011 richtig krachen lassen!

SABATON SABATON was formed back in 1999 in Falun, Sweden when the members of a band called “Aeon” reformed and rearmed for the upcoming first recording in Moon Music Studio. The founding members of Aeon: Rikard, Pär and Daniel Mullback had joined forces with Oskar and Joakim earlier during the year which had seen a few line-up changes and the guys decided on a fresh start and changed the name of the band to SABATON. After “Fist For Fight” (2001), “Primo Victoria” (2005), “Attero Dominatus” (2006), “Metalizer” (2007) und “The Art Of War” (2008) SABATON released in May 2010 the brandnew record “Coat Of Arms” and these are the same guys you see on stage today. The band were almost ready for the recording of their next album “Coat of Arms” in the end of 2009. The band took also the next big step and joined the Nuclear Blast family. In early February 2010 Fredrik Nordström, assisted by Andrew Hayball mixed the album together with SABATON in Boomtown studios. ARCH ENEMY ARCH ENEMY is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup, from Halmstad, formed in 1996. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, and Eucharist to name a few. It was founded byCarcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the influential death metal band Carnage. The band has released eight studio albums, a live album (Burning Japan Live 1999), two DVDs and three EPs. The band was originally fronted byJohan Liiva, who was replaced by Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000. “The Root of All Evil” released on September 28, 2009 in Europe. The album features twelve re-recorded songs spanning the band's career before Gossow joined as vocalist, with some material pre-dating D'Angelo as their bassist. In the first half of 2009, the band toured Europe and South America, and then played at the annual "Dubai Desert Rock Festival" alongside Opeth, Chimaira, and Motrhead. Following the release of The Root of All Evil on September 28, 2009, the band embarked on an Asian and Australian tour, which included their first visit to New Zealand. The tour started at the "Loud Park festival" in Japan on October 17, supplementing other acts including Megadeth, Judas Priest, Slayer, Anthrax, Rob Zombie and Children of Bodom. They also toured in South Korea on October 25th, headlining at the Melon AX Hall in Seoul. According to a September 2010 interview with Angela Gossow, ARCH ENEMY will enter the studio on December 1st to begin recording their ninth album for a May 2011 release
AMORPHIS Founded in 1990 in Helsinki, AMORPHIS have worked their way up to the top of the European metal scene over the last 20 years. Sure, originally the disciples around mastermind Esa Holopainen were definitely death metal, but gradually developed into a serious rock act. In 1996 AMORPHIS recorded the historic album “Elegy”. Not only did it become a progressive/ folk metal masterpiece, it also became the first top 100 chart album ever for Nuclear Blast. Now to the present: 2010 is a year to celebrate for both AMORPHIS and their fans: it`s the band`s 20th anniversary, and shortly after releasing their first-ever DVD “Forging the Land of Thousand Lakes”, these merchants of all things gloomy, melancholic and heavy are back with “Magic & Mayhem – Tales from the Early Years”! Any band could release a best of album, especially one with an impressive back catalogue such as AMORPHIS. But the sixpiece put together an essential list of old classics, fan faves and cover versions and completely re-recorded them! So for the first time, all fans have the opportunity to see how old, death metallish material like “Vulgar Necrolatry”, their biggest hit in the 90ies “Black Winter Day”, or the much loved live anthem “My Kantele” sounds with “new” singer Tomi Joutsen!
ORDEN OGAN Originally founded in June 1996 as Tanzende Aingewaide the band was renamed to Orden Ogan in 1997. They released 3 Demotapes: "Into Oblivion" (1997), "Anthem to the Darkside" (1998) and "Soli Deo Gloria" (1999), which received good press response.] After some line up changes the band introduced their characteristic sound with the release of "Testimonium a.d." in 2004. It received an average of 9.5 to a full 10/10 points in German reviews. In February 2008 the band's label debut "Vale" was released via Yonah Records in Germany which was met with acclaim by the European press. The German Rock Hard Magazine called the band "the one and only legitimate Blind Guardian successor". "Vale" will be released in Brazil and Japan in 2009. The band played over 50 shows in 2008 with festivals such as Rock am Ring (Germany), Metal Healing (Greece), Rock Harz (Germany) or Metal Camp (Slovenia). This year they released the new record called "Easton Hope" and the reaction was incredible. We will enjoy the gig from ORDEN OGAN at the Summers End Festival.
ADAM BOMB In 1979, when Adam Bomb was 16 years old, he and Geoff Tate started a coverband called Tyrant. Later he joined the band TKO, with whom he recorded the album, “In Your Face”. in 1982, at age 18, Adam auditioned for Kiss. He flew to Los Angeles and played three songs with them, but was not invited to join the band. Instead, he moved to Hollywood and shared an apartment with Jeffrey Isbelle, better known as Izzy Stradlin. Adam quickly became friends with Tommy Thayer, a neighbor and guitarist for the rock band Black N' Blue (now guitarist in KISS), who suggested Adam should do his own project and call it Adam Bomb. In 1983 he finalized his first album, “Fatal Attraction”. One year later he moved to New York to start a band with drummer Gregg Gerson (Billy Idol), bassist Phil Feit (Riot), and Aerosmith guitarist Jimmy Crespo. Later, the band moved to Los Angeles and played openings for bands like Armored Saint and Metallica. In the following years, Adam Bomb performed as both a band and solo act with a variety of bands and people worldwide, some of whom were Chuck Berry, Johnny Thunders and Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, and recorded several albums. Adam continues to tour Europe extensively with his 3 piece band: while Paul Del Bello has been the bass player for years, there have been several different drummers. Adam Bomb played a concert in Prague after the KISS concert in 2010. Tommy Thayer was supposed to join him on stage as a special guest. With this sensational biography we are very curious of the performance from ADAM BOMB at the Summers End Open Air!
CAPITAL JOKE CAPITAL JOKE is the new band from guitarist Manni Schmidt (ex-RAGE, ex-GRAVE DIGGER). After he left in 2009 the band GRAVE DIGGER he built up a new group. With the line-up Manni - guitar, Barto Kormann - vocals, Dom Nowitzki - Drums and Jan LeGrow – bass, CAPITAL JOKE played several gigs and finished recordings for the first demo. The bandmembers are big fans from groovy bluesrock and this is what they play. In 2011, CAPITAL JOKE will breaking the wall with the music and the shows. |
